About our Work

The ultimate goal of the Social Innovation Hub is to develop an eco-system and an inclusive platform to engage key stakeholders to creatively and meaningfully design and implement socially conscious solutions to address societal challenges and to co-create a diverse, equitable, inclusive, resilient, sustainable society for everyone. The Hub will also serve as a knowledge mobilization platform to disseminate research findings and facilitate innovative university-community engagement research that can pave paths for social initiatives and generate economic, social, health, and environmental impacts.

Health and Wellness – The Social Innovation Hub is committed to building capacity for social innovation research to address diverse health challenges and concerns within and beyond the Canadian context.

Food System and Food Security – The Hub is committed to working with local, regional, national, and international partners to co-develop innovative and integrated social ventures to support food production, food (re) distribution, and food consumption in the local and global food systems.

Sustainable Production and Consumption – For achieving SDG 12 “Responsible Consumption and Production” along with reducing carbon footprint by ensuring an eco-friendly production system and reduction of waste through responsible consumption leading towards building a strong base for climate resilience.

Climate Resilience – The Hub will work closely with partners, educators, and learners to co-develop an ecosystem to support “planet-first” social innovation.

Affordable Housing- The Hub is committed to working on affordable housing projects to reduce the homelessness issue. Thus, the Hub will work towards building sustainable cities and communities while reducing inequality within the members of the communities.
